CANVAS PHOTO PRINTING

Canvas Photo Printing is a great way to transform your favorite photograph into a piece of art!

The process is simple: you send us your favorite photograph - of a wedding, vacation, family or pet portrait - and we'll print your photograph on high-quality canvas using archival inks that, with proper care, can last a lifetime.

Gallery Wrap vs. Standard Stretched Canvas

Gallery wrapping is when the image/photo wraps around the edges to create a finished look with no framing necessary. We use deep 1 ½" stretcher bars on our gallery wrapped canvasses. Standard stretched canvasses do not have the image wrapped around the edges. Standard stretched canvasses have ⅝" stretcher bars and are intended to be framed for hanging.

Canvas prints can be made from original photographs or digital files:

Original Photographs

Many of our canvases are created from traditional photographic prints (snapshots) and they turn out wonderfully. Keep in the mind, the better the original, the better your canvas print will turn out. The original should be clear and crisp, not dull or blurry. Of course, if you have a very old photo, it may not be as clear and crisp, but most will still make an excellent canvas print. For these older pictures, we can also offer digital photo restoration and color correction as an additional service.

Digital File Format and Resolution

As with original photographs, the better quality the image, the better your canvas print will turn out. The digital image should be high resolution to allow for enlarging the image. The resolution from most digital cameras 5 megapixels or higher generally works perfectly for canvas printing. Images that are 2 MB or higher are great. Images between 700 KB and 2 MB are almost always workable. Files under 700 KB may work for smaller sized canvasses but are generally not suitable for larger canvasses.

We can work with digital files in most formats, including JPEG, TIFF, and PSD. It is recommended that digital files are brought or mailed to us on CD, camera SD card, or flash drive to maintain the resolution of the image. E-mail can compress images and lower the resolution, therefore, e-mail is not preferred. If you wish to send us an image electronically, file transfer programs like DropBox are preferable.

Please note that if your photograph was taken by a professional photographer, you will need to provide an official written release by the photographer.

Photo Collages

We offer professional quality, digital photo collages custom-designed for you. Bring us several of your photographs or digital images and we can build and print a beautiful photo collage. Pricing for digital photo editing varies based on project.
